Once again, the trial players have secured a place on the active roster.
On Friday, after the mandatory mini training camp ended, the Hawks signed defensive defender Parrinkson. Earlier this year’s offseason, corner guard Shon Stephens was added to the roster after a rookie mini training camp trial.
This 29 year old player initially entered the league from Durham as a sixth round draft pick for the Jets in 2018.
Nixon is 5-10 years old and weighs 179 pounds. He has played 30 games (three starts) for the Jets, Tigers (2019), Packers (2020), Vikings (2021), and Dolphins (2023). Last season, Nixon played five games for Miami under the guidance of defense coordinator Vic Fangio, and he is now also with the Hawks.
Nixon was born in Algiers, Louisiana and spent five years at Durham University, where he started 46 games, accumulated 188 steals, 16 intercepts (second in school history), 31 passes and defenses (third in school history), and scored two touchdowns. As a senior student, Nixon was named the second team in the United States by Sports Illustrated.
With Nicholson, the Hawks have 20 players in the second lineup out of the 90 man roster for training camp.
